Maison Baguès

CSR policy

Craft excellence in the service of sustainable, responsible luxury

Since 1840, Maison Baguès has carried on an exceptional fine-craft tradition in the creation of art lighting and art furniture. Aware of today's environmental and social challenges, the Maison has adopted a demanding Corporate Social Responsibility policy, guided by three fundamental commitments.

01

Circularity and the value of materials

Our commitment to environmental restraint rests on the longevity of our pieces and the preservation of resources. Recovering, carefully sorting and returning bronze, brass and steel offcuts to recasting channels significantly limits our use of virgin material. At the same time, our restoration and refurbishment workshops extend the life of our historic creations. Day to day, optimised surface-treatment baths, strict effluent management and eco-friendly packaging help reduce the environmental footprint of our workshops.

02

Assessing and taking responsibility for our supply chain

The excellence of our creations rests on constant, transparent dialogue with all our partners. We carefully assess our suppliers, particularly for glass and crystal, on their environmental, social and safety practices. Our purchasing favours short supply chains and European sources, to reduce transport impacts and guarantee full traceability. This collaboration is founded on a shared commitment to fundamental ethical principles and strict respect for labour law.

03

Preserving craft skills and human capital

The future of Maison Baguès rests above all on the women and men who make it. We are actively committed to passing on fine crafts through apprenticeships, compagnonnage and continuous training, keeping age-old skills such as chasing, assembly and gilding alive. In the workshop, health and safety remain at the heart of our priorities, through constant improvement of workstation ergonomics, efficient dust extraction and the prevention of risks linked to the products we use.
